Sharija Menon

Team Leader, DP English

With a wealth of academic experience, Sharija serves as the Team Leader for English, Teacher of Language & Literature and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) for Grades 11 and 12. Her educational journey includes an M.A. in English Literature, specializing in Women’s Writing, along with B.A. degrees in English Literature and Indian Classical Dance with a focus on Bharatnatyam. Her versatility shines through as she navigates diverse subjects. Sharija’s teaching prowess extends beyond the IB Diploma Programme; she has taught Communication Skills at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Notably, Sharija was handpicked as one of twenty participants from Asia for a Researchers’ Workshop, a collaboration between COMPARE research journal, the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative and Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education. Beyond her academic accomplishments, Sharija finds solace in the arts, from literature and music to cinema and dance. Her multifaceted interests also encompass gardening and sustainable practices like composting. Guided by the profound wisdom of Aristotle, Sharija embraces a holistic approach to education, firmly believing that nurturing the heart is as crucial as educating the mind.
