Tarana Pithawalla

Counsellor

Tarana is a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor who brings a wealth of experience spanning over 22 years in the fields of Counselling and training. Tarana’s academic journey includes an Honours degree in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, followed by a Masters in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai. She plays an integral role as a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor at BIS, where she imparts her wisdom to Senior School and IBDP students. Tarana’s subjects of expertise revolve around fostering well being, catering to Grade 9 through Grade 12 students. Equipped with a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, Tarana’s professional portfolio encompasses both traditional and contemporary methods. Her career embarked with Shelter Don Bosco, an NGO dedicated to aiding street children. She furthered her expertise with the Mumbai District Aids Control Society before transitioning to an esteemed teaching role at S.N.D.T University’s postgraduate department.

Her leadership was evident during her tenure as Director at Sinara Education and Career Consultants Pvt. Ltd, where she oversaw the training and counselling division in collaboration with the Times Foundation. Complimenting her professional endeavors are Tarana’s personal interests in Psychology, Eastern Philosophy, Indian classical music, and art. These passions not only enrich her holistic approach to counselling and education but also reflect her multidimensional perspective on life and human experience. She has completed the Science of Wellbeing programme by Yale University.
