Malika has been passionate about teaching ever since she was a student herself. She volunteered and taught students while she was in school and then went on to college and received her Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology from Northwestern University. After that, she completed a Masters of Arts degree in Learning Disabilities. While at college, Malika assisted teachers and taught at the Saturday Enrichment Program at Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development as well. Following graduation, she spent a year teaching at the Cove School, a school dedicated to serving children with a range of complex learning disabilities. After moving back home to Bombay, Malika worked at NSS Hill Spring International School for several years, as the Head of the Primary School’s Enrichment Center, as well as the Coordinator of the Open Minds Program, a program for academically talented students. Following this, she worked at the American School of Bombay as a Learning Coach for two years. Malika has attended several workshops in pedagogy with a focus on ideas that help support the development of diverse learners. She is associated with Ummeed Child Development Center and also runs an independent practice supporting and extending the learning of children with a range of learning styles and needs. Malika loves working with children and is always amazed at how their minds work!
