A Small School with a BIG Heart

BIS has always been guided by a philosophy that places human relationships alongside intellectual rigour at the very centre of education. Each educator is encouraged to innovate in their classrooms and are actively supported to be life-long learners themselves.

So, before the corridors came alive with the energy of a new academic session, our teachers found themselves back in the classroom for a unique four-day In-Service Programme.

These four days focused not on administration, timetables or curriculum checkpoints, but on thinking deeply about education, learning and what it truly means to prepare young people for an ever-changing world.

The week drew on both ancient wisdom and contemporary thought, bringing together ideas from Aristotle and Plato on liberal arts education, Peter Senge’s work on systems thinking, Ilya Prigogine and Edgar Morin’s writing on complexity, George Lakoff’s ideas on metaphor and cognition, and the enduring wisdom found in classical Indian dance, Carnatic music, theatre, yoga and sound-healing.

We’re bursting with pride to celebrate the journey and achievements of the IBDP Class of 2026. Headstrong, persevering, and ambitious, the Class of 2026 have delivered results that reflect exactly who they are: students who refused to settle for anything less than their best.
At BIS, our IBDP class of 47 students achieved an outstanding average of 38/45, well above the global average of 31/45.

Key Highlights from the Class of 2026:

– 45% of students scored 40 and above
– Average subject grade: 6 out of 7
– 18 students achieved a perfect 3/3 in the core (TOK, EE & CAS)

Excellence in the Core:

– 85% of students earned an A or B in Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
– 79% earned an A or B in the Extended Essay (EE)

Perhaps most telling of all: our predicted grades deviated from final results by just 0.3 points out of 42; proof that behind every ambitious student was a teacher who knew exactly what they were capable of.

To our students—your determination was never quiet, and neither are these results. You showed us what it looks like to want something and work relentlessly for it.

To our teachers and mentors, thank you for matching their ambition with your own, and for never letting them settle.

To our BIS families, your steady support gave them the ground to stand firm on.

It was Edutour season in Junior school and Grade 4 students went on an exciting and enriching educational tour to Natventure, Wada. They participated in engaging team-building activities including a trek and learning Warli art from local artisans. Many stepped out of their comfort zones and embraced new challenges with confidence. The trip closed with a bonfire night, which was a special highlight filled with music, laughter, and joy.
