A Small School with a BIG Heart

We’re delighted to share a summary of our students’ results from the June 2026 IGCSE examinations, and there is a great deal to celebrate.

• 42 candidates were entered across 16 subjects, producing 341 individual grades.
• 83% of all grades awarded were A* or A.
• Nearly half of all grades were the top A* grade.

Against rigorous marking standards, demanding grade boundaries and the unique challenges of the year, our students demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination and commitment in achieving these results. We celebrate their hard work and achievements, and extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teachers, staff and parents for the unwavering support that made this success possible.

Our Lower Prep children celebrated Independence Day with patriotism, pride and a little inquiry into what independence means in their own lives.
From buttoning and zipping to tying shoes, packing bags and doing things on their own, our parent-led hands-on stations turned everyday skills into meaningful moments of learning to be independent.
They discovered that independence is also about trying, learning, asking for help when needed and proudly saying, “I can do it!” ❤️
A joyful celebration of patriotism, confidence, community and growing independence!

A program designed for the senior-most at Junior School – our Grade 5 students. This program gives the opportunity for students to discover their unique strengths and utilize them to make a positive impact. Rather than focusing on titles, students were given  the chance to experience leadership as collaboration, service, and taking initiative. It is about helping children realise that even small actions can have a meaningful impact on the people and community around them.

BIS has always been guided by a philosophy that places human relationships alongside intellectual rigour at the very centre of education. Each educator is encouraged to innovate in their classrooms and are actively supported to be life-long learners themselves.

So, before the corridors came alive with the energy of a new academic session, our teachers found themselves back in the classroom for a unique four-day In-Service Programme.

These four days focused not on administration, timetables or curriculum checkpoints, but on thinking deeply about education, learning and what it truly means to prepare young people for an ever-changing world.

The week drew on both ancient wisdom and contemporary thought, bringing together ideas from Aristotle and Plato on liberal arts education, Peter Senge’s work on systems thinking, Ilya Prigogine and Edgar Morin’s writing on complexity, George Lakoff’s ideas on metaphor and cognition, and the enduring wisdom found in classical Indian dance, Carnatic music, theatre, yoga and sound-healing.
